But at the same time, the first human cocoon "exploded", and 3 fully-growned Chryssalids burst out of the formerly human husk, and joined their brethren in attacking the Marines.

In conjunction with move-and-melee mechanics, it's a lot harder to completely trivialize Chryssalids.
