The "new" (read: 3rd year, 6th time it's being run) version is very manageable, it doesn't deviate from the old one in terms of content, just uses a different (and honestly, more useful for any co-ops) language. While syntactically similar to Java, C is very different and there will still be a learning curve to using C.
