WebJul 7, 2024 · A friend of mine with Pertronix module and flame thrower coil fitted for about 7 years and has just died completely while on the road. You’ll get good and bad reports for all ignition types but the Pertronix module seems to be as good as any. The failure is more likely to be the flame thrower coil. Who owns PerTronix? The epoxy ones are for applications where there is high heat, vibration or nonvertical installs. For the Gt in a replacement application they recomended a 3ohm oil filled.
